Family-friendly festival gets ready for Saturday 30 July, 2011

Escape the city and visit Batchelor, only 90kms from Darwin.

Not only is Batchelor the gateweay to Litchfield National Park, but this picturesque town also plays host to the annual Lingalonga Festival.

Held under a canopy of beautiful trees at the Batchelor Oval on Saturday 30 July from 9am to 6pm, this family friendly event has something for everyone.

Enjoy the markets, entertainment or join in the activities planned throughout the day. If you prefer a slower pace - sit under a shady tree and share a picnic with friends.

Kids will love the sport themed free activities on offer. Join in the highly sort after traditional weaving workshops, try 'vertical' rock climbing and the obstacle course waterslide. 'Hyper Clown' and Fairy Jill will be here to delight the kids.

Be prepared to get wet with the giant waterslide castle, or bring along your bucket and spade and build the biggest sandcastle!

Don’t miss the blacksmith and his noisy haven of fire and creation. Watch him use a forge and create items the old fashioned way.

Live music throughout the day until 6pm. Have a drink at the Rum Jungle Tavern and chill to the tunes of SIETTA, June Mills, local musicians 'Daly' and 'Rex' and band local band 'ICU' play original tunes along with Melville Devine and others.

There is so much happening - so stay the night and spend the rest of the long weekend swimming at Lit
chfield National Park. Plenty of accommodation choices ranging from camping, family accommodation to luxury retreats....

Smooth away the worries of the week and spend Saturday 30th July 2011 with US!
