Lingalonga Poem

There's that one day of the year
When everyone wants to go to their mates place.

But i don't.

I know where i want to be
I want to be at the Batchelor Lingalonga

Where there are smiles everywhere.
New faces to see, new people to meet

Or even just catching up with friends.
Seeing a new culture every step we take

Tasting a new culture at every store.
The bellydancers shimmering all over

Or even the boys kicking a footy.
Entertainment all day long

Then just a splash of Shakespeare to finish the day.
I love to go to the Lingalonga festival

It's a place i can go and be myself
Without worrying what people think.

It's a place where everybody knows everybody.
Things for every age, from playdough to rock climbing and even a bar for the adults.

Everywhere i looked i saw a smiling face
Or i heard a laughing voice.

Batchelors Lingalonga - that's where i want to be.
